At Oak Tree, we believe in providing a rich and fulfilling curriculum for our children. Learning should spark children's imagination, encouraging them to explore, question and discover. All of our curriculum is taught across a holistic theme and a cross-section of our learning is recorded in our class Theme Books and individual Wider Curriculum books. Parents and carers are encouraged to discuss learning with their child(ren) and record any ideas or comments on the Theme Disucssion Sheet which will then feed into class learning experiences.
As a staff, we have created the booklet below to share our curriculum aims and objectives, all based around our key values. The booklet shares our curriculum offer as to what we believe children should experience throughout their time at Oak Tree. All staff are dedicated to this and feel passionate about providing our children with a holistic, rich and meaninful experience enabling them to become well-rounded, confident, happy and successful individuals.
Attached below are the Reading, Writing and Mathematics overviews for each year group, listing National Curriculum objectives and potential activities. Please note that, whilst the objectives will remain the same, the activites are planning ideas set out at the start of the year and therefore subject to change.
To view our Wider Curriculum overviews, please look on each class' individual page.
