Y6 Bushcraft

Developing character in students is equally as important as creating a framework for academic success. At the heart of character is self-confidence together with the ability to bounce back from the knocks that come with taking on new challenges. All our experiences help students to grow in confidence while having fun and learning new practical skills along the way.

This residential is a little different, taking students into the wild and giving them an unforgettable back to nature experience, where they will pick up life skills in the freedom of a unique outdoor environment.

Arriving at a safari-style tented camps, students will become fully enveloped in the wilderness, sleeping under the stars, and cooking over open fires. Away from screens and technology, our activities encourage team building and give students the chance to develop new skills and interact with their peers in a fun, creative environment.  Whether they are learning first-aid techniques, building shelters or tackling a SOS scenario, the outdoor adventures are as real as you can get.

Bushcraft residentials are run by a team of experienced instructors who look after absolutely everything during the stay. On every camp there’s a roaring campfire, where the students gather for talks and mealtimes between their jam packed programme of activities. Every meal at camp is freshly prepared on-site by your field cook, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. On every trip, the students will also have the chance to cook their own food, using traditional Bushcraft methods.
