SENDCo
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator
Mrs Scott is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) here at Oak Tree. She is a mum of two and have been a teacher for over 18 years, having taught in three different schools in that time, including teaching children with a wide range of needs, from ADHD and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) to complex SEMH needs and Global Delay. She is a Maths Specialist Teacher (MaST) and holds National Professional Qualifications in SEND (NPQSENCO) and Senior Leadership (NPQSL).
In her role as SENDCo, Mrs Scott supports our children, parents and staff in a variety of ways to ensure children who have special educational needs and their families get the right support, at the right time, ensuring they feel fully involved in school life and the wider community. She also coordinates more specialist provision and support for our children with more complex needs. As a school, we believe in working in partnership with our families and other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children. Part of this involves working with external agencies who can support our children and their families, both in school and at home.
Mrs Scott is your point of contact should you wish to discuss any concerns you have about your child's needs.
