Intent
At Oak Tree, the aim of Religion, Values and Worldviews Education is for all our pupils to develop positive attitudes and respect towards each other and to people from all religions and world views. Our curriculum ensures that pupils acquire knowledge about religious and non-religious beliefs and traditions; develop the skills to express thoughts and opinions about diversity, while exploring questions about values and ways of living.
We aim to promote the cognitive, spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of all our learners and, in so doing, ensure they are able to make informed choices about how they want to live their lives whilst also demonstrating empathy and understanding for the faiths of the other people they meet. We want them to be prepared for active citizenship in a diverse and rapidly changing world.
