Welcome to the Year 3 Class page! 

Who will you meet?

There are three Year 3 classes and these are taught by: Mrs Irwin (3LI), Mrs Lee (3CL) and 3HB, who are taught by Mrs Holbrook and Mrs Berkeley.

The adults who support in Year 3 are:
Mrs Hewitt, Mrs Blackburn and Mrs Rabi

Key information:

PE for Year 3 will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday each week. Children come into school wearing their PE kit in order to maximise learning. If the PE day changes, we will let you know on Class Dojo. 

PE Kit Requirements:
• Burgundy PE sports top (available with Oak Tree badge)
• Black shorts/black jogging bottoms
• Black zip up hoodie or school fleece
• Sports trainers
All jewellery must be removed for PE and swimming, and long hair should be tied back. Earrings ARE NOT ALLOWED for ANY PE session and must be removed before school.

Children are given reading books to take home to read with an adult. Reading books are changed once a week, if your child's books have been read at home and their reading record has been signed by an adult. Please check your child's reading record to see which day this will be on. 

Children in Year 3 can join the 100 Book Challenge if they wish. They can document the books they have read in the green book. Rewards and certificates are handed out for the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 50th, 75th and 100th book they have read.

Spellings are worked on throughout the week during taught spelling lessons. They are sent home on a Friday and tested the following Thursday each week. We also test the children on the Year 3/4 Statutory Spellings throughout the year. The children will have time to practise these in class but if you would like them to practise them at home, you can find a list under 'useful documents'.

Times Tables Rock Stars - to support children with learning their times tables, every child has a TTRS account. They will have time to go on this in school but they can also practise this at home. If you would like paper sheets to help your child with their times tables, please let your class teacher know.
