Oak Tree Primary School

School Council

In our school, all children are part of our democratic process, making decisions about things which impact our school.

Each class from Year 3 to Year 6 has gone through the democratic process of electing their new School Councillor who will represent them for the duration of the school year as part of the communication team. Our Councillors are the voice of their peers and are involved in decisions about the school that affect them. They also have a number of responsibilities within school. We talk about everything from developing policies to ideas for fundraising events and fun days! Through the School Council and our class meetings, all pupils have the opportunity to raise issues, share ideas and take part in discussions that involve all pupils within each class to reach a democratic solution. This ensures that all pupil's voices are heard. Pupils at Oak Tree Primary School know that this is their school and their thoughts and ideas matter. Miss Sant leads the school council. If you have any suggestions for us to consider at our next meeting, please let your Class Councillor know!
