Whole School Overview
Our high-quality curriculum is designed to reflect the relationship between substantive and disciplinary knowledge by developing pupils’ historical knowledge and their historical analysis simultaneously. These concepts feature regularly throughout the study of history in a range of contexts. Our enquiry based curriculum is mapped out from EYFS- Year 6 to ensure continuity and progression in both substantive and disciplinary knowledge. The disciplinary and substantive concepts (known respectively as our ‘7 Big Ideas’ and ‘7 Tricky Terms’) are also mapped out to support the development of a comprehensive understanding in each area.
