Support for Families

Oak Tree Primary School is a welcoming school where everyone is valued highly and where tolerance, honesty, co-operation and mutual respect for others are fostered. We are committed to the development of the whole person within a supportive, secure and creative environment.

We appreciate that there might be times when support is needed to help students, parents and staff in our school community access more specialised support. Please know that there are many people who you can talk to in school and below are a number of website and support services who you can talk to should you need any additional support.

Ethnic Diversity Service The Ethnic Diversity Service is a specialist service which provides a wide range of support for English as an additional language (EAL) pupils and schools, and promotes equality and diversity.

NSPCC As part of their fight for every childhood, the NSPCC works directly with children and families and gives support to thousands of adults and young people in need through the NSPCC helpline and Childline.

The Proud Trust The Proud Trust is the home of youth information for LGBT + and other identities such as asexual, intersex and questioning.

Samaritans Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help. No judgement. No pressure. They are there for anyone who needs someone.

Signpost for Stockport Carers This is an independent local charity supporting carers for more than 30 years. If you’re a Stockport carer or caring for somebody living in Stockport, they are there for you.

Stockport Foodbank The Stockport Foodbank helps people across town who are going through tough times.

Stockport SEND local offer The Stockport Local Offer provides advice, information and services to children and young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) and their families.
