Children are given reading books to take home to read with an adult. These are changed regularly in school. They have a reading diary to keep a log of books and record when they have read with an adult. Children in Year 4 can also join the 100 Book Challenge, if they wish. If they have participated previously, they can continue using their green book log to document their progress.
Spellings are worked on throughout the week during taught spelling lessons. They are sent home on a Friday and tested on the following Friday.
