Natalie Peters
Natalie Peters (Co-opted Governor)
I have three children that have been through primary school at Oak Tree. They have all now moved on to high school. I also have first-hand experience of the SEND provision at Oak Tree. Whilst my children were in Oak Tree, I was on the ROOTS committee. I love being able to help organise fun activities, raising funds to better the education and experiences of our children.
I work in adult social care, running a domiciliary home care business. I am in charge of staff and inductions, ensuring all staff are up to date with training and are compliant with industry regulations. It is also my job to ensure the business is run well, staff wellbeing is maintained and complies with all CQC and local authority regulations. This is a family business and I have recently taken over the running after my parents retired.
I run a regular social group for adults to avoid social isolation, providing lunch, activities and experiences for them. I have worked in many different sectors previously, in a supermarket, as a bus driver, in cargo at Manchester Airport and as a Special Constable for Greater Manchester Police. The range of previous experiences enabled me to come across people from all walks of life and from all over the world, seeing many different perspectives.
I joined the Oak Tree Governing Board in Spring 2023, and I am a member of the Resources and Premises Committee.
