Fieldwork

Fieldwork

“Fieldwork means using first-hand observations and geographical skills to gain knowledge and practical experience in both physical and human outdoor environments”

Throughout the school, children are given opportunities to develop their fieldwork skills and see Geography in action!

Geographical Enquiries

“Carrying out an enquiry develops pupils’ geographical learning by providing opportunities for them to put into practice their geographical skills. They can find answers to questions through research or fieldwork.”

In addition to regular fieldwork activities, all children at Oak Tree will have the opportunity to put all their geographical skills into practice and develop critical thinking by carrying out an enquiry project. The enquiries will follow the same structure throughout the school (pictured below) but adaptations will be made according to the age of the children.
