In September 2025 we celebrated 10 years since Oak Tree first opened its doors. The school building was hardly finished, the old school building of Queens Road was still on the top playground, the class rooms were full of boxes to be unpacked and the “playground” was a tiny square of concrete!

We loved looking back on and celebrating the work that has been done over the last 10 years and how much the school has evolved into the happy community school that it is now.

To celebrate, we enjoyed: a coffee morning for parents, governors and guests during which children presented poems they had written and choir performed; fun party activities in class; a picnic lunch; a whole school sing along outside; digging up our time capsule and finding out more about the history of the school. 

To celebrate the school we also created films of our wonderful site and interviewed staff to find out more. You can watch these videos below:
