Oak Tree Primary School

Meet the SENDCo

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator

My name is Sharon Scott and I am the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) and Assistant Headteacher at Oak Tree. I am a mum of two and have been a teacher for over 18 years. I have taught in three different schools, teaching children with a wide range of needs, from ADHD and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) to complex SEMH needs and Global Delay. I am a Maths Specialist Teacher (MaST) and hold National Professional Qualifications in SEND (NPQSENCO) and Senior Leadership (NPQSL).

I support children, parents and staff in a variety of ways to ensure children who have special educational needs and their families get the right support, at the right time, ensuring they feel fully involved in school life and the wider community. I believe in working in partnership with our families and other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children.

Part of my role is to work with external agencies who can support our children and their families, both in school and at home. I also coordinate more specialist  provision and support for our children with more complex needs.

I am your point of contact should you wish to discuss any concerns you have about your child's needs.
